Bead 425 Farm-fest

As I told you yesterday brace yourself.....
have you?
okay! Well today my family and I went to a local crafting/fiber event called farm fest.
Its been going on about ten years now but this was the first time we were actually able to go. It was awesome but not as big as I had expected it to be  with just a few vendors, a couple different animals, ammature bagpipers/ Scottish music group. I got to see my boss there too :) Even though it was so small and quaint I still had a fun time, the food was good I had a "beef" pita (I can never admit that I ingested any creature that wool comes from and bahhhs...) homemade hummus, and  a Greek vegetable salad. I ended up buying some handmade size 19 dpns, two big glorious skeins of hand dyed/ spun yarn from a really nice older couple whom you could tell really cared for their sheep and what they , TWO POUNDS of Navajo churro fleece which is totally a bunch for me seeing as I am not anything close to a professional  and in reality never "need" that much of one kind of wool....but I did need it! I could only buy it from the farm it self in pre-weighed sheer weight, and (un)fortunately only one of the ones that I wanted was in small enough weight for me to be able to purchase.
Now I am a proud own of two pounds of Phoebe (the sheeps name)
so my bead is made from her!

Bead 424

today has been super freakishly rainy and gross outside. but despite that my family and I were able to be a little bit of successful at wheeling and dealing in the small amount of yard sales that were still on despite the weather. just mama and I went thrift store shopping in the early morning and I managed to find a beautiful complete mushroom tea set, it was individually priced initially but we managed to convince a really nice man at the store to price it as a set, it came down to nine dollars but by the time we left (after picking up afew other odds and ends) the grand total was 13.45, which essentially I got for free since I found a gift card to the store in my wallet!
other wise all our fam went to a few muddy-muggy strangers properties, bought randomly cool things and hauled it off their land. My pile included a nice old heavy chest (that I will have to completely strip and refurnish), three huge old bowls, an old hand made wooden lamp (that again I will have to fix since its super old).
those are the things I can remember....
the rest of the day was spent loafing, including the bunnies

super awesome things are coming tommorow! ....just warning, brace yourself...

Bead 423 Movie and new friend night

tonight I went out to the movies with a good friend of mine and we had a total blast!
we went shopping before hand to get a present for a 4 year old( we resolved on Nerf guns, fun, silly and with a smidgen of violence), after that we got tacos, then we went to go see the movie (the possession) it was okay, way more funny then scary and there was only five people in the whole theater including my friend and I ,the three other people were younger and really hilariously freaking out. my friend also got me an amazing present for my birthday, a wonderful little labbit!!!
I have been wanting one for FOREVER!

Bead 421 a year older...

It is official, I am nineteen years old. today.
and I think I made it the best day I could.
I missed my first class, I didn't feel well and slept in, it seemed to be the ticket because I felt a hundred times better with just 5 extra hours of sleep.
Dad and I had avocado sandwiches for lunch, he took me to my remaining class. came home mama made me really yummy pot stickers.
I received my most glorious, awesome, amazing gifts ever which included:
  • a tiny unicorn knitting kit ( with little gnome button included)
  • a really adorable amigurumi book
  • and the big surprise a 50th anniversary edition of "Mastering the Art of French Cooking"
in the mail I got my jimbo original crochet hook, its so beautiful and a gift within itself.
I also got allot of wonderful birthday wishes from some friends and family.

Bead 420 purples and blues

I had quite a big amount of ups and downs today. some were really good ups and progresses that I have been needing for a super long time to be able to happen .
the day went as follows:
poetry class- fine
call from doctors office- aweful, I got stuck on hold with gosh-aweful roboty advertisments for the doctors and specialist for atleast 18 minutes
painting- super good progress and really nice pick me up text from a buddy

etching- okay, good plate work and print, but I felt really really sick and gross.I had to take afew breaks to just cry and breath my frustrations and pains out.
but It has to get better soon
purple bead today

I know the purples in my painting arn't this bright its just part of the hope for a better tommorow

Bead 419

I was able to make today great which is totally rare and kind of awesome...
beginning of the day was super suckish but progressively got better, and my classes passed by quickly.

So after all my classes were done I went on an art supply shopping spree, to get some much needed supplies for my painting and etching class, and also ended up getting part of my sisters birthday gift, some nice colored pencils on sale, and some Mylar to play with. after that my dad and I went to my favorite international food store where yet again mini shopping spree, after that a quick stop by the Mexican store for some fresh cheese and a little bit of bread. see that churro? that was my "emergency" churro that I gobbled up as soon as I got that photo, I was hungry....
but another awesome thing that happened was today was mail day I got my toys that I ordered a few days ago!!!

seriously awesome for just "gravy" money

Bead 417

long day, but It could have been much longer.
thank you God!!!
Mama and I helped with the salsa contest and pie contest...
ugh I didn't really enjoy either that much but I did enjoy bringing a big slice of my extra berry pie to my favorite gentleman friend (with Alzheimer's)
he was so happy beyond belief when we asked was he hungry for pie.
he acted as if had received a gift from God himself, and delightfully said yes, he showed it off to a few people, carefully finished unwrapping it, found a comfy seat, and ate it slow and gleefully for over an hour.
gotta love that, so that certainly put a nice shine to the remainder of the work day, we also got a yummy buttery pretzel to split (we need at least one "fair food" excursion every season) and got a dollar off from the nice man working at the stand, who says karma doesn't exist?
the highpoint still hands down was giving joy to such a sweet man

have a pretty tomorrow dearies!

Bead 416 Pie making day

tomorrow is the pie contest for my local county fair, and I AM READY! I got super hardcore today and baked five pies:
2 berry pies (one for us)
1 buttermilk pie (plus a few minis for taste testing)
1 pumpkin chocolate chip cookie pie
1 apple pie
I had such a fun time making them and only ended up with two wounds; one a burn to the top of my hand as I was balancing the hot pies and trying to rearrange the oven so I could fit all of them in, and taking a chunk of flesh out of the top of one of my fingers because of a stupid old apple cutter. I blead like a stuffed pig for a good long while but I didn't contaminate anything, I wrapped it up stuck it over my head to try to slow the bleading and went on as a one armed pie making champ the rest of the time. My skin smells like butter instead of artist chemicals and I love it....I needed a good baking break and I got it along with allot of other little blessings today.
  1. my eggman is back, ergo we have real eggs again
  2. I was the top bidder for a new Jimbo original crochet hook (birthday present to myself)
  3. made plans to go to the movies later on this weekend
  4. my order for designer toys shipped
  5. got all the jobs I need to get done today finished
  6. made pretty and yummy pies
I murdered a tiny pumpkin, I killed him, violently, while his brother watched......
he watched in horror knowing that sometime... maybe not today....maybe not tommorow...that he would be NEXT!
a small pumpkin soul bead in memorial for the lost life today
have a happy tommorow

Bead 415

Amazingly peculiar but really fabulous day.

poetry class: a third of it was filled with various people freaking out about two little bumble bees, one was murdered, the other got away...

painting class: professor was AWOL ,I painted for a little while but  had a mild mental breakdown out of the combination of hunger, exhaustion, sugar crash, and all around soul I left (total understatement I basically ran). I immediately hit up anyone that I knew for a fact that was on campus and was able to get one taker to meet me. And it turns out to be the perfect person I needed to talk me out of dropping out of school becoming a crazy homless women on the side of the road with a sign reading "will make art for food" or just throwing myself into oncoming traffic, either option was compleatly legit  option at the time!
But allas I am still in school and still alive (as far as I know)
we talked, laughed, got strawberry bubble tea, had a small adventure of hiking back to the studio so I could work on my etching plate, and was able to meet with another buddy real quick

etching class: went by much faster since my soul was allot less hurt as it was earlyier in the day,and  I was able to get a good amount of my plate done so I ended up getting out early for an appointment.

met up with mama, got amazing gyros, ate, went to afformentioned appointment and saw the most beautiful sunset I have seen in a long time.

have a great Friday

okay day today.
got help on my sculpt by my awesome professor (who loves me),

did my best on my exam,

saw an old friend really fast
and went home and made pizza, chilled and purchased some really awesome stuff
note these pics don't belong to me!
I've been wanting to get something from "The Chung" for awhile and just recently found the new Lunartik in a cup of tea second edition. no time better then the present, plus both of them are limited edition
I guess I have an extreme love for everything in cute little containers?
anyhoo cup bead today!

tomorrow is my Friday and I am so joyous about it I could scream!

Bead 413

tired and had a muggy, rainy, wet, squishy day....
so much so that I was bare foot for a portion of the morning
I wore my old tread less crocs today which in retrospect was not my greatest idea....
to prevent sidewalk suicide I resorted to just carry my shoes and pound the pavement bare foot, people got to see my cute little toes outside and during my whole first class, shoes are over rated and I needed for the bottom legs of my jeans to dry so I wouldn't feel grosser and colder the remainder of the day.
the rest of the day went okay, I got farther on a new painting, and got fussed at during critique in etching for not properly hanging up my work
oh well...i got through it all..
toe shaped bead today

p.s.: good vibes tomorrow will be appreciated I have a big test and could use all the good energy I can get

Bead 412

crazy but not too bad of a day:
fussed at in 3-d class
learned more about Newtons' Laws
helped a cousin out by listening to a lice presentation about 4 times
yelled at a nurse that I am not nor will ever (in the present future) be pregnant
finished my homework and extras early
fussed about starving
got fed

Bead 411

I've been on a huge soup and stew kick, I guess because of the main fact that its actually starting to feel like fall, and that I have had thus far about 3 bouts of Icky-germ-party-feeling this semester. But I keep on keeping on, and I guess that is what counts....
we made chicken and dumplings today, the first batch of the season and it was SOOOOOO DELICIOUS and much needed on a chilly sort of achey day

Bead 410

Its fair time again...not a bad thing entirely, not a great thing entirely. But I did survive today and six hours worth of volunteering dealing with:
sweet people
screaming poultry
bake sales
awful judging
and the list goes on and on.....
but Mama and I triumphed, did our time like troopers then went home to make a delicious huge pot of 15 bean soup

Bead 409

BEEN DECORATING CAKES ALL FREAKING DAY...normally this would sound like a totally joyous and awesome job but it was quite allot of time and effort for somethings that will be eaten by others ( that I won't be able to eat..) but its going to the extra gravy money from the fair. I decorated a fall harvest and a patriotic themed cake. they look nice, but I'm really tired.
yellow tiny bead, why? because I like the color and its been at the top of my pile for awhile
also its the same shade as a little ducky detail that I have one of my cakes
duckies kiss!

Bead 408

Tired, still tired like yesterday but a bit more sane, stable and allot less worse for ware.
I completed today with flying colors, I:
  • finished my painting
  • got a 100% on my poetry quiz
  • survived a painting demo and semi crit
  • learned a new etching technique
  • tore down my crispy print
  • wasn't a complete zombie the whole day (although I did pump myself with candy and sugar to keep me conscious with the same gusto used pulp fiction.....hell I'll be honest with you)
but the key thing to get from all of this is that I GOT THROUGH TODAY!
rather successfully I might add ^___^
and as a reward from my self and dad I got the most amazing potato wedges from a hole in the wall gas station-grocery-liquor-store. Dad knows of allot of places like that adjoining both of our colleges so it was a fun and much need side trip on the way home. (I didn't mention that I was starving and had only one real meal for the day)
tater wedge as todays bead!
happy friday to you and yours!

Bead 407 oily

I really oily right now, stoned off of paint, medium and solvent....pretty much normal stuff for an art major but egh It was an unintentional high, I've been working on my painting homework for the last 2 hours or so and I'm exausted....
i would descibe my day if i could but I don't think I have it in me to muster any more words other then, just okay
bead is llama that I washed my oily hands with a few minutes ago, it picked up some of my pallet color

sorry about the nonsence but I need sleep...

Bead 406

was an okay day, I got allot accomplished and had allot of helping hands and metaphorical peanut butter sandwiches. I wasn't able to do everything I wanted to do but still made great strides in learning and becoming stronger health wise. I didn't throw up and I am super proud of that. I also helped with a project on my street, lighting luminaries in memorial for the lives lost so few years ago.

Bead 405 more hummus is among us

I love, love, love, love, love hummus, I haven't had any in a while but really need the special substance and warm belly feeling that it gives.
today felt actually like fall, kind of chilly but wonderfully thrilling at the same time. I love fall. I worked on my sculpture this morning and am (un)fortunately really ahead of everyone else.whateves I'm trying my best and I'll let come what comes with that, Astronomy went pretty well too, But the most most awesome thing (besides hanging out with my family) was receiving my new shirt featuring HUMMUS!!! AND DINOSAURS!
here is a close up on my favorite dino
Ironically I was able to have some yummy hummus as a snack before supper

Bead 404 sobs and fishes...

today was a roller coaster of a day even though it was planned to be my most relaxing and restful one....damn me for planning...
well I did get quite afew "peanut butter sandwiches" including me:
  • finally getting over  the major symptoms of whatever has been wrong with me
  • getting allot more cool stuff from the same estate sale as yesterday for only $16.50
  • contacting my glorious professor with online quiz issues and him actually responding, caring, understanding and helping to the best of his abilities, I still ended up sobbing while waiting for the people in charge of the website to help me, I waited for an hour and a half for someone to contact me through their "helpchat" line with no avail... so I gave up and ate...
  • stretching my second canvas by myself without cussing (aloud)
  •  having an understanding Mama, thanks love you
we had a mini fish fry too which helped ease the stress and chaos
catfish including little corn hushpuppies

Bead 403

Health-wise today was quite a struggle, I haven't been feeling very well lately but today it just seemed to escalate to even worse points then It has been in a while, I'm nauseous, have a splitting head ache, stomach cramps, vertigo and all around feeling of ickyness. I am not amused nor thrilled with my body as of right now, but I did manage to get quite a big amount of things accomplished despite all of these issues. 1 good estate sale, art supply shopping yet again even though I didn't get anything on my original list beacause the store I desided to go to didn't have good enough quality stuff ( or good quality staff frankly...) but atleast I got things in preperation for the fair and had a little fun shopping. The rest of the day was occupided with fair stuff prep, and trying not to die of whatever is going on with me.
a blue bead with one of the tiny objects that I got today at the estate sale.
